FAQ's
Q: What is my donation and support used for? Who does it go to?
A: 100% of your donation goes directly to The Freedom 13 Organization, a 501(c)3 (application pending) non-profit, and will be used to construct Recreational Retreat Villages for US military veterans. Our goal is to build one in each state across the Country – 50 total with the first 13 Villages built in the home states of the Freedom 13.
Each Freedom 13 Recreational Village will be built on 2 – 2.5 acres or larger, consisting of 13 homes, from 1 bedroom efficiency for the single vet to multi-bedroom for vets and the families. Service-Pet friendly, several units will be handicap accessible, and we’ll be using smart technology whenever possible.
Activities will include boating (kayaks, canoes), fishing, swimming and other family focused activities.
In the future, we also plan to work with independent, certified third party service providers, covering veteran assist areas such as PTSD counseling, service dog placement, etc.
Q: How much does it cost to build a Recreational Village?
A: Our initial estimates put the price tag between $2 million and $3 million dollars.
Q: Who is eligible to stay in the Villages?
A: Any veteran from any branch is welcome to stay for a week with their immediate family as long as the veteran can provide a valid DD214 through the vetting process.
Q: What type of activities and services will be available at the Villages?
A: Each Freedom 13 Recreational Village will be built on 2 – 2.5 acres or larger, offering a relaxing, restful and recharging atmosphere.
Activities will include boating (kayaks, canoes), fishing, swimming and other family focused activities.
In the future, we also plan to work with independent, certified third party service providers, covering veteran assist areas such as PTSD counseling, service dog placement, etc.
Q: Where is the first Recreational Retreat Village being built?
A. Jared was born and raised in Missouri, so it made perfect sense for us to build the first Recreational Village in his home state.
Once completed, it’ll be a great place for veterans and their families stay to rediscover and recharge, meet fellow veterans, spending quality time together, resting and relaxing all while forging new friendships and creating new, positive memories.
Q: Will there be a Village in my state? How can I get involved in bringing one to my state?
A. Our goal is to build one in each state across the Country – 50 total, with the first 13 Villages built in the home states of the other 12 Heroes.
